This coffemeker is made of a plastic that when heated it sticks so bad that you have to areate the house!!!
Tried to wash it with vinagre as suggested by the Krups Customer Service, but it keeps on stinking!!
We had a Krups coffemaker in the past and we had no such a problem. We had to send this one back for credit.

It is very simple to make your very own sugar crystals. It is also named as rock candy since the crystallized table sugar looks like rock crystal and because you can enjoy your product. You can make fantastic crystals with sugar and H20 or place food coloring to make colorful crystals. It is very easy and exciting to make this project. Boiling H20 is required to fully dissolve the sugar, so it is advisable to ask for the help of an adult.
MATERIALS
The materials that you will need in order to make rock crystals are one cup of water, three cups of sugar, one clean container, stick or butter knife, yarn, a bowl for the water and creating the sugar solution and a spoon.
STEPS IN GROWING SUGAR CRYSTALS
It is advisable to cultivate a starting crystal, which is a little crystal to provide weight for the string and a surface for big crystals to develop. Tie a yarn in a stick or knife and place it at the top of the jar. Make sure that it will not touch the sides of the jar or the bottom of the container.
Boil one cup of water. If you boil H20 in the microwave, be careful in removing it to avoid getting injured by the hot water. Place the sugar one teaspoon at a time. Keep adding sugar until it begins to accumulate at the bottom of the container and would not dissolve in the H20 even with vigorous stirring. It means that the solution is already saturated. If you do not utilize a saturated formula, then your rock crystals will not grow quickly. But if you place too much sugar, new crystals will grow on the undiluted sugar and not on your yarn.
If you want to create colored sugar crystals, mix in a few drops of food coloring in the solution. Place your solution in a clear container. If you have remaining undiluted sugar at the bottom of the jar, do not place it in the new container. Place the stick over the container and allow the yarn to touch the solution.
Place the container in a place where it cannot be move. Check your rock crystals after a day. There should be some changes in your project. Let the sugar crystals grow until they have reached an acceptable size. You can either allow the rock crystal to dry or eat them directly from the string.
ADDITIONAL TIPS
Remember that crystals will grow on a cotton or yarn but not nylon. But if you will use nylon, place a seed crystal to encourage growth. If you are making crystals as snack food, do not utilize fishing weight to hold your yarn down. The lead from the fishing weight will mix in with the solution. Now that you know the steps in creating sugar crystals, you can now try out this enjoyable experiment.
